Plymouth City Council’s Sustainable Transport Team and the University of Plymouth’s Centre for Sustainable Transport hosted a conference targeted at shaping the future of transport within the City. Following the completion of four significant studies into public transportation over the last 12 months, the opportunity existed to share the key findings, recommendations and summaries of each. This was an opportunity to be actively involved in understanding and working through solutions for how we take the findings of the studies forward to deliver the best possible passenger transport services for the people of Plymouth.

Organised by the Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership and the Centre for Sustainable Transport at the University of Plymouth, the Community Rail in Devon & Cornwall conference offered a great opportunity to learn about how the Community Rail network in Devon & Cornwall has and is being developed, the lessons that have been learned and plans for the future. There were lots of practical examples of action and lots of food for thought too.

This one-day conference, jointly organised by the CST and the Department for Transport, focused on issues raised by the government's new transport document. Copy of the conference findings available here .
